So Ive been longing for a device that would record my console games in at least good SD quality. Bought a crappy TV tuner, that had ridiculous hardware settings that wouldn’t work, and even the CD software was corrupt. I thought I was the only one until I read a bunch of reviews with the same problem. So as I continued Googlin’, I found this blog site Goodblimey.com and he gave away instructions on how to recordĀ your console in hi-def. The device he used was a HAVA Monsoon Platinum HD. It is a Placeshifter that is used to stream your TV (or cable) over the internet. So if your at work, you can enjoy your ESPN on the go! It was labeled the “Slingbox Killer.” Well I havent used a slingbox but I was impressed with the instructions so I went ahead and bought my own Monsoon Platinum HD for $149 ($119 on newegg). The device enables you to record your games up to 720p but it accepts 1080i display and sizes it down through the network (more info at bottom of post). Since HDMI is not allowed (due to protection from HDCP) you will only use component cables (RGB cords). You will also have to buy 2 triple Phono connectors from your local electronics store (radio shack etc.). This is a requirement!
So I recently found some screenshots of COD5. No words on the features that treyarch included, but I do know that they are doing the World War scenario again (sigh). Looks nice but im pretty tired of WW2 games. Leave comments on how you feel.
This is Devil May Cry 4 for PC. I downloaded the demo and wanted to see how it would run on my PC. Runs really smooth and maintains 60 FPS with a 8800GT and Duo Core 2 cpu (for those curious gamers) Devil May Cry 4 is the continuation from DMC 3, but includes a new character named Nero. Here is a record demo of how smooth the game runs and my computer specifications are at the bottom for those who want to know what parts they would need to max this game out!
Crysis is a First person shooting game for the PC only. The story takes place on an island where a special forces from the U.S is sent to handle a rescue mission only to find out that there is more to it than that. The force ends up discovering a new species that the koreans have awaken. Now its up to you to put an end to it!
So far, this is the realest looking game to date. Believe me I play games for a living and I have yet to see a current game with higher resolution textures than crysis. The game has become so popular, that when the average gamer buys a new computer, they test their computers true ability by popping in ths game! It has become the new software benchmark! When you also buy new cpu parts, they will sometimes include a copy of this game. But the downfall of it is that this game is way too ahead of its time causing some people to complain about spending over $1000 on parts just to max out its graphics. Well to some (like me) its a hobby, while others wonder why we do it. All I know is, it keeps me out of trouble ^__^.
I have recorded a 30 minute video showing off its gameplay and cool features that they included.
I am going to start recording random video games of my choice. I will also post them at different qualities for users who use slower or faster connection. The first video is a test using the video game Bioshock for the PC and also available for Xbox 360 (PS3 soon). When I record video games it will be tagged under “games” and you click the link “Game:Post” at the top or search using my handy tools to the right >>>>. Enjoy!
